Veterans Affairs Department Cutting Staff

The Department of Veterans Affairs, run by Sec. Doug Collins, says it is on pace to reduce staff by 30,000 employees by the end of 2025. They say the job reductions will happen because of retirements and deferred resignations.

The VA said the cut of 30,000 is far less than the major cuts that as expected of more than 80,000. The push for a “large-scale reduction-in-force” has been in the news for months.
