Virginia Democrats Women’s Caucus Kicks Off Gala Day
RICHMOND, VA — The June 17 primary is over and Virginia Democrats have their ticket in place: Abigail Spanberger is their nominee for governor. After a thrilling night of election returns from a close race, State Senator Ghazala Hashmi is the Democratic nominee for Lieutenant Governor and former Delegate Jay Jones is the nominee for Attorney General. Tonight, at their annual Blue Commonwealth Gala, all three Democratic nominees for statewide office will do something that the Republican ticket apparently can’t: Appear together on the same stage. The ticket appeared together at a midday event today standing in front of an American flag with a large bus embalmed with Spanberger’s logo in the background. Tonight will be their second appearance.
This morning in Richmond the Virginia Democrats Women’s Caucus led by former nominee for Lieutenant Governor Hala Ayala hosted Spanberger and awarded State Senator Lamont Bagby, the new Chair of the Virginia Democrats. Tonight’s Blue Commonwealth Gala will be Chairman Bagby’s first as the leader of the Virginia Democratic Party.

HENRICO, VA — U.S. Senator Mark Warner held a town hall at Glen Allen High School and took dozens of questions. Team Warner also displayed the answers to what many Democrats have been asking about: What are you doing to counter Donald Trump? (See photo at bottom).
