Triumphant Comeback for Lashrecse Aird #Virginia #SD13

JUNE 20 PRIMARIES 🏃🏾‍♂️ After losing in 2021 against a red wave of Glenn Youngkin voters that would flip the Virginia House of Delegates… former Delegate Lashrecse Aird is back in legendary fashion. Aird’s triumphant return to victory makes up one of many victories by younger State Senate candidates over well known veterans. There will now be a “new look” Virginia Senate in 2024 that will feature a new and more diverse set of State Senators serving in Virginia’s upper legislative chamber. With over 14,600 votes, Aird, 36, defeated incumbent Senator Joe Morrissey, who received 6,400 votes, in a decisive 69-30 victory.

Last night, Black Virginia News’ Paulette Shipman-Singleton captured Aird’s night of triumph. She was joined by her friends Del. Cia Price and former Delegate and Meet Our Moment founder Jay Jones as well as State Senator Ghazala Hashmi among many others.
