Three Black Women are Running for Congress in CD07
There are three Black women running for the seventh congressional district. The primary is on June 18. They are Potomac District Supervisor Andrea Bailey who announced today she is running for Congress; Delegate Briana Sewell, who announced in November 2023, and Woodbridge District Supervisor Margaret Franklin.
There are 15 candidates running in all. The likely vote split in Prince William will work to the disadvantage of Sewell, Bailey and Franklin. But early polls and fundraising could cause candidates to change their mind and endorse others in the race.

DUMFRIES, VA -Â Today, Andrea Bailey announced her candidacy for the 7th Congressional District. Bailey is a lifelong Democrat who is currently a Prince William County Supervisor. She also released an endorsement from former Virginia Governor, Ralph Northam.
