Portsmouth: Mayor Glover Delivers State of the City Address

PORTSMOUTH, VA — Yesterday, at the new Rivers Casino is Portsmouth, Mayor Shannon Glover delivered the State of the City address to a room of over 2,000 community leaders, business leaders and elected officials.

Mayor Glover addressed a sold out luncheon in a huge event room in the new casino. He emphasized that the $300 million private investment that has created over 1,000 jobs in Portsmouth.

Glover emphasized that his focus moving forward would be to increase homeownership, create jobs and attract new business to the city saying Portsmouth was headed in a “bold new direction.”
