RICHMOND + PETERSBURG, VA — 🏃🏾♂️ State Senator Joe Morrissey’s wife Myrna has cut a robocall for her husband’s campaign. On Dec. 18, the only Sunday before firehouse Election Day (Dec. 20), Joe Morrissey was seen with his daughters at four church stops in Richmond and Petersburg.
State Senator Jennifer McClellan 🏃🏾♂️ also made numerous stops on Sunday including St. Paul’s Baptist Church in Henrico where the community gathered on Dec. 7 for the funeral of A. Donald McEachin🌹. Candidate Tavorise Marks made stops at New Life Deliverance Tabernacle in Richmond and Mt. Calvary Baptist in Hopewell.
McCLELLAN 🏃🏾♂️ MORRISSEY CHURCH STOPS. State Senator Jennifer McClellan stopped at Cedar Street Baptist in Richmond and St. Paul’s Church in Henrico, among others. Sen. Morrissey spoke at two stops on a whirlwind set of stops for at least three candidates.
THE TWO POLLING LOCATIONS IN RICHMOND 👨🏼🚒 There are eight polling locations for tomorrow’s firehouse primary. But the two in Richmond are key because so many of the voters in the 4th congressional district are in river city.
The two locations in Richmond are: Diversity Richmond at 1407 Sherwood Avenue and Dogwood Dance Theatre at 109 W. 15th. There’s a gigantic digital billboard in the parking lot running three ads (as of Dec. 18) at the Diversity Richmond polling location and one of the ads is McClellan for Congress. The Diversity Richmond polling location is a few blocks out of Sen. McClellan’s district in Sen. Ghazala Hashmi’s district. The Dogwood Dance polling location is located at the top of Sen. Morrissey’s district. See maps below:
The second polling location is at Dogtown Dance Theater 109 W 15th Street in Richmond. This location is in Sen. Morrissey’s current Senate district.
Quick look at the Petersburg voting location at Tabernacle Baptist at 418 Halifax. This voting location is in Sen. Morrissey’s district but very close to Sen. Amanda Chase’s district.
👨🏼🚒 ALL EIGHT POLING LOCATIONS FOR DEC. 20:
ZOOMS. ADS. BUS TO POLLS. Several members of the Congressional Black Caucus, including outgoing and incoming CBC Chairs Rep. Joyce Beatty of Ohio and Rep. Steve Horsford of Nevada, joined Sen. McClellan and her crew on their nightly volunteer zoom. 🏃🏾♂️ @Tyler_Eliades posted a collage of CBC members on his twitter account.
Congressman Bobby Scott is featured in a one-minute ad for Sen. McClellan:
…and Sen. McClellan will be in Petersburg at 4:30 p.m. today:
BUS TO POLLS? Clearly the southeastern section of the fourth congressional district has no polling places nearby for the firehouse primary. The drive from some of the rural counties to the closest polling place could be an hour. Yes this is a limited “firehouse” primary — but c’mon now, for members of the Democratic party always pushing for voting access this moment is ironic to say the least.
TAVORISE MARKS JUST DROPPED THIS ON FACEBOOK:
PRESTON CAMPAPIGN OFFICE? In Petersburg, Joe Preston’s signs are popping up more than one might guess for the quietest campaign of the firehouse four. Even though each campaign has been forced to print at a breakneck double-rushed pace for this fast-as-hell firehouse primary, there is some lit popping up on canvases.
But during a few drives around Richmond on Dec. 18, law signs for any campaign were hard to find. Still looking…
Only one day left to Virginia’s fastest congressional election ever…
