Keys-Gamarra Wins More Endorsements, Aird Ad #2, Hippen Boosted by Boysko, Legal Giant Newman Retiring, #VaBeach 5/31 Event
KAREN KEYS-GAMARRA WINS MORE ENDORSEMENTS AFTER PLUM ENDORSEMENT. 🚨 HD07: A week after veteran lawmaker and Delegate Kenneth Plum endorsed attorney Karen Keys-Gamarra, she is earning more support. Del. Vivian Watts and Reston Community Leader Laurie Dodd also announced they were backing Keys-Gamarra on May 17.
Keys-Gamarra, who is a current member of the Fairfax County School Board and a family law attorney, has earned the second highest amount of votes (179,000 votes) of any Black woman in the history of Virginia second only to current Lt. Governor Winsome Sears (1,658,000 votes).

Virginia-Pilot: Survivors and families of the victims of the May 31 tragedy in Virginia Beach will lead a city-wide moment of silence at the Oceanfront on the shooting’s fourth anniversary… the event will begin at 4:06 p.m., which is when the first 911 call from the shooting at the municipal center came in. The moment will conclude with the ringing of a bell, and the families of the 12 victims are welcomed to release a dove in honor of their loved one.

HD96: SUSAN HIPPEN GETS BOYSKO BOOST. Last month, retired U.S. Navy Master Chief Susan Hippen beat out a sitting member of the General Assembly, Delegate Kelly Fowler, in Q1 fundraising in a crowded field. Now Hippen has won the support of progressive State Senator Jennifer Boysko.
"I have known Susan for almost a decade. I know her to be a person of integrity and professionalism. She will fight for women's choice, public education, working people, and more. I endorse Susan Hippen to be the first delegate of the new 96th District," Senator Boysko wrote on May 16.
