"I Have Chosen to Fire All My Consultants..." Kimberly Pope Adams Withdraws... Then Returns #HD82
π© UPDATE AT 11:20AM β STAY TUNED. βI CANβT QUIT. I WONβT QUIT.β
APRIL 6 IS FILING DEADLINE DAY AND A CPA LAYS DOWN THE BOTTOM LINE. Kimberly Pope Adams would make a great guest on Roland Martin Unfiltered on the Black candidate experience as so many African Americans in Virginia run for office. Last night, Roland Martin Unfiltered (at 1hr 14mins) featured a conversation on how political money for campaigns really works and consultant spending. Adams has substantial experience with questions of dollars and cents as as a CPA who has served as an auditor for the Commonwealth of Virginia.
This morning Adams, who was running for the Democratic nomination for House of Delegates in HD82 against Brandon Riley and Victor McKenzie, withdrew from the race. Adams, an accountant, cited money as an issue.
βI have chosen to fire all my political consultants and use the remaining funds to issue refunds to my grassroots donors,β she wrote, in part. Adamsβ full statement is below.

Adams hands in signatures on March 20. She submitted twice the number of required signatures to qualify for the ballot.
