Feb. 18: Power of Purpose @VAUnion1865 #BHM #Virginia
A Black History Month event entitled THE POWER OF PURPOSE will be held at Virginia Union in Richmond on Feb. 18. Delegates Delores McQuinn and Candi King, who will be the keynote speaker, will present an interactive and informative set of panel discussions. There will also be a soul food lunch, entertainment and vendors. The event is free.

➡️ 9:30 - 10:30 am PANEL DISCUSSIONS - Community Policing - Panel # 1. A candid conversation about the current and historical realities of policing in diverse communities. The discussion will include the policies and practices of body worn cameras, use of force, the culture of “Blue Lives” and more.
Strategies for building relationships of trust through Community Policing will be addressed and issues of trauma and mental health related to police tactics (experienced by individuals, police, and the community) will also be explored.
