Exhibit on Rosenwald Schools at Virginia Museum of History & Culture Ends April 20
RICHMOND, VA — An exhibit called "A Better Life for Their Children: Julius Rosenwald, Booker T. Washington, and the 4,978 Schools That Changed America" is currently on display at the Virginia Museum of History & Culture. The exhibit ends on April 20, 2025.
The exhibit puts attention on the efforts of educator Booker T. Washington and businessman Julius Rosenwald. Rosenwald was chief executive of Sears. Washington was the President of Tuskegee.
Between 1912 and 1937, the two led a project that built close to 5,000 schools for Black children across the segregated rural American south. The staggering racial disparities in education in U.S. was met with no solution until the Rosenwald Schools were constructed.

Report on Triple Homicide at University of Virginia is Heavily Redacted
Report on 2022 Triple Homicide. After a delay of over a year, a $1.5 million taxpayer funded report on a triple homicide of three students at the University of Virginia was made public on March 21, 2025 in an email by UVA President Jim Ryan.
The Executive Summary can be seen here. The ridiculously heavily redacted main report on the murders can be downloaded below. There’s not much content that can be read and the heavily redacted sections lead one to ask: What was the point of spending over a million in taxpayer money for a document no one can review?

The triple homicide at UVA took place on Nov. 13, 2022 and the murderer, Christopher Darnell Jones Jr., will likely be in prison for the rest of his life. The murders took place on a bus after a group of UVA students returned from a trip to Washington, D.C.

Virginia Commonwealth University Closes DEI Office
WTVR: Virginia Commonwealth University announced on Friday that its Board of Visitors approved a resolution discontinuing its Division of Inclusive Excellence.
The decision was made in order to "align with new federal discrimination guidance" for colleges and universities.
"We recognize the impact of this change. Where appropriate, we will transition programs from the Division of Inclusive Excellence to other areas," a letter from university leaders reads. "VCU’s commitment to embracing different backgrounds and perspectives is not defined by any one department — it is a core value woven into the fabric of the entire institution. This philosophy guides us in creating a welcoming, opportunity-rich environment for all people." READ ENTIRE
