➡️ RICHMOND, VA. Dr. Paul Nichols, who was a prominent Richmond pastor, was honored with a an honorary street sign at P and 28th streets in the Church Hill section of Richmond.
Back in January, the Richmond City Council voted to authorize the sign designating “Paul Nichols Way” at that location. Nichols led Good Shepherd Baptist Church for over two decades.

Dr. Paul Nichols passed away in 1990 at age 50 after a cerebral hemorrhage.
“A Kentucky native, Dr. Nichols made Richmond his home base after enrolling at VUU as an undergraduate. He later added a master’s degrees from VUU and the Presbyterian School of Christian Education and a doctorate through a joint program of American University and Wesley Theological Seminary,” wrote Jeremy Lazarus in the Richmond Free Press in January on Dr. Nichols.
➡️ DANVILLE, VA. Today in Danville, 🌹Lawrence G. Campbell Sr., who died on March 27, 2023 at 93, was laid to rest. Campbell was civil rights icon. Last night there was "A Night of Reflection" at Bibleway Cathedral.

From the obit: 🌹Bishop Campbell was born on February 3, 1930, in Danville and was the son of the late George Campbell and Etta Vaughn Campbell McCauley.
Apostle Campbell along with his wife, co-founded Bibleway Cathedral in the heart of Danville, Va. Campbell is survived by his wife, Gloria Williams Campbell of 75 years; five children, Allethia C. Perrin (Bishop David), Elder Lawrence G. Campbell Jr., Angela C. Allen (Matthew), Dr. Philip W. Campbell, and Hope C. Minus (Stephen); four grandchildren, Dietra Carree (Isaac), Rebecca Campbell, Stephen "Jeffrey" Minus Jr., and Jordan Minus; two great-grandchildren, Alaina Carree and Bryce Jones, and a host of other relatives and friends. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his stepfather, Deacon Edward McCauley and daughter-in-law, Elaine E. Campbell.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the "LGC Scholarship Fund" Cash app: $BIBLEWAYCATHEDRAL. The Fisher and Watkins Funeral Home is assisting the Campbell family.
➡️ CHESAPEAKE, VA. The Annual Senior Support Services Seminar in Chesapeake was held this year and was packed as usual. The Chesapeake Sheriff’s Office has hosted the seminar for 33 years and this year it was held on April 12 and 13. The two-day senior expo was hosted by Sheriff Jim O’Sullivan this year. The event features a free lunch, entertainment and many vendors that relay information, services, and resources for seniors in the community.
Local elected official attended who attended included Rep. Bobby Scott, State Senator L. Louise Lucas, State Senator Lionel Spruill and Chesapeake City Councilwoman Ella Ward.
