Fourth Circuit Judge Reverses Retirement Plans
Bloomberg Law reports that Fourth Circuit Judge James Wynn Jr. βhas rescinded his plans to step down from active status, denying President-elect Donald Trump the opportunity to appoint his successor.β Judge Wynn was appointed by President Obama.
Judge Wynn sent a letter to President Joe Biden made public Saturday by Sen. Thom Tillis (R-N.C.). βI apologize for any inconvenience I may have caused.β
Behold⦠Michael Vick at Norfolk State?
The Virginian Pilot reported today that superstar QB Michael Vick recently interviewed for the head coaching job at Norfolk State University. The previous head football coach at Norfolk State was Dawson Odums who departed with a 15-31 record over four seasons.
Vick played in NFL for 13 seasons and remains the NFL leader in quarterback rushing yards. Vick was the NFLβs first QB to rush for 1,000 yards in a single season. Vick played for the Falcons, Steelers and Eagles during his career. Vick was also a star QB at Virginia Tech University.
Vick confirmed to The Virginian-Pilot that he spoke with Norfolk State University President Javaune Adams-Gaston and athletic director Dr. Melody Webb and is expecting a resolution βsoon.β
Governor Glenn Youngkin Champions No Tax on Tips
Governor Youngkin announced a budget proposal to exempt service tips from Virginiaβs state income tax.
βThis proposal will return an estimated $70 million annually to the pockets of hardworking Virginians to further deliver on Governor Youngkinβs commitment to lower the cost of living for working families across the Commonwealth. This builds on the more than $5 billion in tax relief already delivered for Virginians under his administration,β a statement today from the Governorβs office read.
