As Trump Trashes U.S. Economy with Tariffs, Virginia Rs Vanish
Many constituents in the 1st congressional and 7th congressional district are asking: When was the last time Reps. Jen Kiggans or Rob Wittman held an in-person town hall? With so much change in the news and so many unprecedented decisions by the Trump Administration, people are looking for answers as their personal finances are becoming the source of concern.
Below: One of the many comments on social media.
Above: A comment on Reddit on Kiggans’ tele-town hall
As President Trump trashes the U.S. economy and 401Ks and stocks dive, members of the party who supported him have remained silent. As thousands of federal employees are fired and veterans lose services, Virginia Republicans remain out of sight. Other Republicans around the country have held in-person town halls and Rep. Kiggans held a telethon hall this week. Though tele-town halls have become an alternative to in-person events, they are notoriously limited in terms of the number of people who can ask questions.
GOP Gov. Glenn Youngkin has appeared regularly in public at events to at least take questions and address some of the Trump Administration’s mass firings. But on the federal level, there’s been relative silence in terms of a public opportunity for constituents to ask in-person questions of congressional U.S. Representatives on the right.
Below: More news this morning.
“The Virginia businesses that are here, I’m telling them to expand,” Youngkin said yesterday in Dublin, Valley, as reported by WVTF. “Because you’re gonna have even more market to sell in to. Companies from around the world want to come to the United States and build.”

Will there ever be an in-person town hall held by a Reps. Kiggans or Wittman? Their districts and their constituents are certain to be impacted by the decisions the Trump Administration is making on a daily basis.

Target’s Numbers Continue to Drop During Boycott Efforts
By Stacy Brown for Black Press USA. ‘Target is losing more than its commitment to equity, it’s losing customers. For the eighth consecutive week, shoppers have turned away from the retail giant following its decision to dismantle its diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) program in January. New data from Placer.ai shows store visits during the week of March 17 fell by 5.7% compared to the same time last year.
That follows a 7.1% decline the week before, bringing the average drop over the past two months to 6.2%. The fallout has been swift and steady. Target’s quiet retreat from DEI—after years of vocal support for racial and social justice and a multi-billion-dollar pledge—triggered an immediate backlash. Faith leaders, civil rights organizations, and everyday consumers responded with public pressure and calls to action. READ ENTIRE
