Annual Black History Month Reception
WASHINGTON, DC — The annual Black History Month reception coffee took place this morning. Attendees came from Richmond, Petersburg, Newport News, Norfolk and beyond to attend the annual event. This year the reception took place in the historic Kennedy Caucus Room in the Russell Senate Office Building on Capitol Hill in Washington.
U.S. Senators Mark Warner and Tim Kaine and Congressman Bobby Scott and Congresswoman Jennifer McClellan spent time greeting Virginians and taking pictures with attendees.
Loudoun County Board of Supervisors Chair Phyllis Randall; Prince William County Board members and congressional candidate Andrea Bailey and her husband, Virginia NAACP President Cozy Bailey, former Loudoun County Commonwealth Attorney Buta Biberaj, former Alexandria Mayor Bill Euille; Alexandria City Council member John Chapman, current Norfolk School Board member and Norfolk City Council candidate Carlos Clanton; Newport News NAACP President Jennifer Brooks and many other community leaders around Virginia.
