Portsmouth Public Schools 📖 NEW: PPS students to present possible solutions for regional air quality concerns
Thursday, July 17, PPS students will present designed solutions to address urban air quality challenges to guests and representatives from the Virginia Innovation Partnership Corporation, Breeze Technologies and the City of Portsmouth. This will come after weeks of work as part of the AirQuest initiative, where students analyzed data from Virgina air sensors, including two installed at Manor High School and I.C. Norcom High School. Students also met with professionals in fields including urban planning, meteorology, emergency management, public health and environmental science. The event will take place at Manor High School at 10 a.m. To attend, please RSVP to lauren.nolasco@portsk12.com.
NEW: Summer school graduation taking place July 31
Portsmouth Public Schools will honor all of its 2025 Summer School graduates in a ceremony held at Churchland High School, Thursday, July 31, at 6 p.m. Students from all three of the division high schools will make up the graduating class.
Summer Food Service Program underway
Portsmouth Public Schools is supporting Portsmouth Parks & Recreation with its annual Summer Food Service Program. Meals are being provided to all children without charge on a first come, first serve basis, at the sites and times listed here. New this year, the division will debut The Grilled Cheese, a school bus turned food truck where meals can be delivered to neighborhoods directly. Call 757-393-8743 for more information.
